MEET KEVONNE CLARKE

I’m Kev Clarke, a creative of many hats but I tend to wear one at a time. Throughout my life a reoccuring compliment I would receive is “ you have a way with words.” As the winner of my 7th-grade spelling bee, I could see why they’d say that.

Upon my freshman year of college, I began to write and record music. As an attendee of the same high school as JAY-Z, Biggie Smalls & Busta Rhymes, the bars and the lyrical miracle flows came to me naturally. Maybe its something in the school lunch?

As music streaming become more popular I challenged myself to not just be an artist, but to be a multifaceted creative. While on my lunch break as a bank teller I contacted someone on facebook marketplace to meet me so I could buy their Canon Rebel t6i camera. That person turned out to be a content curator for rapper 2Chainz. That camera became an all access pass for events I would go to, my favorite moment as a freelance photographer was filming Rolling Loud NY and getting to meet some of my favorite artists.

I consider myself a student of the game. I’ve been watching power 105.1 breakfast club interviews since I was 12 years old. What I’ve always loved about podcasts is that the gimmick never lasts long. I always noticed that in some point in the interview the real opinions of the guests would present itself at some point and thats where the relatability can becomes genuine. This led to me starting my own podcast titled, “ToberTalks” where I would scout locations, select guests, create the questions, hire a film crew and build something that i wanted the world to see. I interviewed music artists, painters, fashion designers, photographers and cosmetologists based on my admiration for these respective disciplines.

I won “best dressed” in high school. I’ve always viewed clothes as art, a way of expressing one’s self creatively without having to say anything. I knew that there were designs I haven’t seen that were more than possible to bring to life in the creative ecosphere. This led to me taking a trip to NYC’s garment district and going from store to store, testing materials of hoodies, T-shirts and hats but the trial and error was more than worth it as I went on to base the clothing as merchandise to promote the podcast and went on to creative over 500 garments and formulate an authentic community.

My deep knowledge of culture allows me to appreciate the cultural connections between these creative worlds.

You guessed correctly. I was born in the month of OcTOBER.

Growing up I always hated scary movies. Until I watched Stuart Little & The Little Vampire, realizing it's all acting. This insight led me to use dark imagery in my art, hoping to inspire others to confront their fears.

Audio Viusals Creative Director

I’ve watched hundreds if not thousands of music videos. I like to listen to some of my favorite songs and imagine what the music video would look like. Thankfully, some of my creative peers bestowed upon me the honor of being the lead creative in bringing their vision together.

One good thing about MUSIC…

when it hits you feel no pain.
